Former ONWARD Guitarist Issues Update On Vocalist Search
December 8, 2006Former ONWARD guitarist Toby Knapp is in the early recording stages of a new album which should be out around the summer of 2007. The CD will contain a lot of instrumental metal, but he is also seeking a powerful progressive metal vocalist to contribute to several tracks. Since he announced his vocalist search a few days ago, "several outstanding vocalists have stepped forward and offered their services," Knapp says. "As it stands, there are some very exciting prospects and finding the right voice will not be a problem. I haven't decided on having one vocalist or different singers for different tracks. Whatever the case, it will fucking destroy."
Knapp recently announced plans to release a collection of remixed/mastered demo tapes for what would have been ONWARD's last album, "The Neverending Sun". The ONWARD CD and the debut album from Knapp's black metal project WAXEN are both being issued through Metalbolic Records. The WAXEN album, entitled "Fumaroth", consists of recordings that were completed for WAXEN's 2004 demo and includes the track "Splendid Impure Light", which can currently be sampled on Metalbolic's MySpace.com page.
Knapp last year issued an instrumental album, entitled "Polarizing Lines". He also recently contributed lead guitar work to the split CD featuring the one-man death metal band SEEKING OBSCURE and UNBURIED.
